Honor is now a self-contained brand that may launch goods without the oversight of a parent corporation. We received their Earbuds 2 Lite for review recently, and they promised a lot: Active Noise Cancellation, a 32-hour battery life, and a reasonable price. We received the accessory in Glacier White and put it through its paces.
Quality in Design and Construction
The Honor Earbuds 2 Lite are available in two colors: black and white. I received the white version, which is clearly inspired by Apple’s Air Pods. They’re exceedingly light, weighing only 5.5g per bud. Because everyone’s ears are different, the box includes three sizes of ear tips to ensure a perfect fit.
Once the best-fitting tips were affixed, I found them to be incredibly pleasant and secure. Everything is controlled through touchpads, so there are no buttons on the buds. If you’ve ever used true wireless earbuds, you’ll be familiar with the notion of using different tap patterns to regulate ANC, pause/play music, and skip tracks.
Aesthetic Appeal
The buds come with 10mm ‘customized’ drivers, however, there is no support for the higher-quality aptX codec when using Android phones or other devices. Because there is no licensing charge for Apple devices, AAC is used instead of aptX, making the Earbuds 2 Lite less expensive. Even when the volume is cranked down low, there is a decent balance between highs, lows, and Mids.
The bass levels aren’t nearly as loud and impactful as on the Sony WF-XB700, for example. Listening to techno or rock music, however, is still a pleasurable experience. Personally, I like to use these buds to listen to podcasts or mellow music like lo-fi.
Active noise cancellation is one of the standout features and one that you wouldn’t anticipate at this price. It’s also extremely effective. When ANC is turned on, there is a perceptible difference when strolling down a busy road. The background noise has been subdued to the point that you feel completely engrossed in what you’re listening to. The silicone tips block a lot of noise, so there’s already a lot of isolation.
You can totally turn off the ANC, and there’s also an Awareness Mode that activates microphones on the outsides of the buds to enable sounds to pass through. This allows you to carry on a discussion without having to remove your earphones, such as while getting coffee. If you’re listening to music, though, the volume should be kept below 50% in order to hear what others are saying. Of course, pausing whatever you’re listening to is the best option.
Specifications and Advantages
The Honor Earbuds 2 Lite support AAC and SBC and use Bluetooth 5.2. The latter is a bit of a letdown, as aptX would have significantly enhanced sound quality for Android users. Each Bud has two microphones for ANC, phone calls, and the Awareness Mode. Each bud has a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 55 mAh. A 410 mAh battery is included in the casing. According to Honor, the Earbuds 2 Lite may last up to 32 hours if you use the case in between uses and don’t use ANC or Awareness Mode all the time.
These values appeared to be quite accurate to me. While working, I used these buds for days on end, in both ANC and Awareness Mode, as well as accepting phone conversations. They lasted as long as I placed them back in the case after each usage. This is without a doubt the most remarkable aspect of these inexpensive buds. They also charge quickly: a full charge takes around an hour for the buds and an hour and a half for the charging case and a ten-minute charge may provide up to four hours of usage. There’s also wear detection, which means that when you pull an earbud out, your media will halt. This is a useful feature because it eliminates the need for me to manually do this-albeit it may be inconvenient if you want to take one bud in and out frequently. However, you may turn it off in the AI Life app.
Price & Availability
The buds are now only available in Europe, with prices starting at €69.90. (The price will vary from market to market). They went on sale in the United States on August 5th, and you can get them today at Ali Express. If you want to buy them via a UK retailer, they will be available on the Honor website and Amazon UK on August 7th. These buds are Honor’s finest value yet, and they’re quite competitive in contrast to competitors. If you’re searching for a comparable choice, the OnePlus Buds Z costs roughly the same but comes with an IP55 rating and restricted touch controls.
CONCLUSION:
These are the best earbuds. On a single charge, you may listen to music for up to 10 hours. You can hear the surrounding sounds without taking out the earphones. The microphone picks up sounds outside the ear, and the motor creates reverse noise reduction sound waves. In a crisper and more immersive atmosphere, listen as much as you want.
